World of Warcraft clarifies recent rumors regarding the potential return of prestige items obtained from challenging content via the Trading Post.
World of Warcraft recently confirmed that exclusive items like the Kor’kron War Wolf won’t be available on the Trading Post. While not ruling out their return entirely, WoW players can expect these skill-based rewards to remain exclusive, as clarified by a forum post from WoW community manager Kaivax. The accidental appearance of the Kor’kron War Wolf’s Trader’s Tender cost on the PTR led to speculation, but Blizzard has stated it has no intention of releasing such rewards via the Trading Post, including mounts from achievements like Ahead of the Curve and Cutting Edge, or Gladiator PvP achievements.
However, this confirmation only pertains to skill-based collectibles, leaving the door open for other time-limited prestige items to potentially appear on the Trading Post. Items like Ichabod, a pet from a past Twitch Support a Streamer event, and the Mighty Caravan Brutosaur, a valuable WoW gold sink reward, have been spotted with Trader’s Tender costs. While some players who obtained these items during their original release might object, many others are excited about the possibility of obtaining them through new means in the modern WoW era.
With raids like Siege of Orgrimmar being over a decade old, newer players who missed out on acquiring exclusive mounts like the Kor’kron War Wolf are eager for alternative avenues to obtain them. Whether these prestige items will ever make a comeback or remain exclusive remains to be seen.
