Leaker Moore’s Law is Dead Drops Bombshell Update on Next-Gen Xbox Console
Renowned leaker Moore’s Law is Dead recently stirred the gaming community with a revelation about the progress of the next-gen Xbox console, suggesting it lags behind its PlayStation counterpart. Despite gamers currently relishing the 9th console generation with Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5, murmurs about what lies ahead are beginning to echo through the industry.
Last March, the Federal Trade Commission accidentally unveiled Microsoft’s ongoing work on the next-gen Xbox, complete with an official codename. Since then, updates on the console have been scarce. However, last week, Moore’s Law is Dead shed light on the console’s status, claiming insider information indicates Microsoft’s development lags behind PlayStation’s due to delayed negotiations with CPU developer AMD for new processors.
This revelation is surprising, given leaks from last September hinted at a different trajectory, including the possibility of a hybrid console and expanded cloud technology integration. These leaks also suggested Microsoft had narrowed its processor choices down to two options from AMD. If Moore’s Law is Dead’s claim holds true, it signals a significant shift in Microsoft’s plans.
While Xbox has yet to officially address these leaks, CEO Phil Spencer has been busy addressing other gaming community concerns. Amidst drama surrounding Xbox games possibly going multiplatform, Spencer promised an event to provide more clarity. It’s anticipated that this event may shed light on the rumors surrounding the next Xbox console’s status.
